SWEP announces local winner of the 2022 Dover Scholars Program

SWEP Slovakia recently announced their local winner for the Dover Scholars Program.  Natalia Cizmarova, daughter of SWEP employee Pavol Cizmar (Quality and Environmental Director, SWEP Slovakia), is a student attending Gymnazium Postova 9 in Kosice, Slovakia.  Natalia is one of 30 winners of the Dover Scholars Program made available to the children of Dover employees.

Natalia Cizmarova currently attends high school at Gymnazium Postova in Kosice, Slovakia and boasts a very high GPA. She also holds honors in English and Spanish.

Natalia is a member of the youth branch of Rotary International (Rotex) as an exchange student. The Rotex program strives to support current and future exchange students because they believe that the experience of young people living with different cultures makes the world a better place. As a part of Rotex, Natalia was a student in Bolivia for 11 months where she attended a regular high school and lived with three different families. During this trip, she was able to experience life from a new perspective and had a chance to learn about a new culture.

In the summer of 2021, she spent two months working in an Italian bakery in Barcelona with other employees from a wide range of cultures. Speaking about the Barcelona experience, Natalia says, ”Not only was I able to improve my communication skills, but I also learned a lot about my passion for gastronomy.”

This summer, she will be volunteering at a farm life summer camp in Washington, USA. She is a very well-rounded individual that also attends violin lessons at a local music shool. Natalia’s hobbies include skiing and traveling.

Natalia is currently weighing all her options until she decides where she will pursue her college career. Already, she has been accepted to the University of Glasgow Neuroscience program, where she will plan to study either Neuroscience or Biomedicine. She was also recently accepted to the Maastricht Liberal arts science program in the Netherlands where she can combine both subjects.

“We are pleased to recognize Natalia as one of the 30 winners of this award,” said Ann Elg Kjellberg, VP of HR, SWEP International AB. “Recipients of this prestigious scholarship were selected from students who applied worldwide across all Dover Operating Companies. Being selected for this scholarship is a true honor and we commend Natalia, along with the entire 2022 class of scholarship recipients for their outstanding achievements.”

The Dover Scholars Program makes scholarships available to the children of full-time employees of Dover and its Operating Companies. Selections are made by a four-member committee of college admissions professionals from prominent universities based on academic excellence, leadership abilities and extracurricular activities. Winners represent high school seniors and current college students and recipients may receive up to $12,000 in scholarship support over the four years of their undergraduate education.  Now in its eleventh year, the program has awarded 373 scholarships, providing approximately $2.6 million in financial support to deserving students of Dover employees around the world.
